A new trailer revealed for Wargame: Red Dragon

by GH Staff

With all the hype of upcoming sci-fi shooters and survival games, RTS fans probably felt neglected for awhile. Well, let’s fix that, shall we? The sequel to Wargame: AirLand Battle (a game that received mostly positive or great reviews, and would have probably gotten an even better score without the retarded name) is coming in 2014, and it will be named Wargame: Red Dragon.

The Red Dragon’s presence in the name is an indication that the game will have some Asian influences. And, it seems that the battleground for your troops is expanding and will include some Asian states from the end of the Cold War era. “More ambitious than Wargame AirLand Battle, Wargame Red Dragon essentially retains the same game mechanics that made the series so successful, but the action leaves Europe for the first time and shifts to a conflict in central Asia between 1975 and 1991, and adding loads of new features. 5 new nations, among which China and North Korea, join the armed forces in Wargame with over 450 new units.”  states publisher Focus Entertainment.

The vast multiplayer of Wargame will be returning, along with a vast single-player campaign and the addition of amphibian (naval) units. The game is expected to release sometime in the second half of 2014. Take a look at the trailer below, containing no red dragons, but plenty of awesome looking explosions and warfare:
