Twitter Signs Cross Licensing Agreement With IBM

by GH Staff

With the most number of patents of all time, IBM is sure to be busy defending their patents. Twitter for instance was in the company’s crosshairs. IBM claimed that Twitter infringed on three of their approved patents. Instead of battling in the courtroom, both parties agreed to a compromise.

The patents according to Engadget concerns: “efficient retrieval of uniform resource allocators,” “presenting advertising in an interactive service,” and “programmatic discovery of common contacts.”

Twitter bought more than 900 patents from IBM and has entered into a cross-licensing agreement. Earlier this month, Samsung and Google also entered a similar agreement.
