Ubisoft Engineer’s Tweet Teases A New Prince Of Persia After Rumors

by GH Staff

Previously, a report suggested that a new Prince of Persia was in development using the UbiArt framework to craft a new type of Prince. Following these rumors, a Ubisoft engineer made a tweet with the line “What next for #PrinceOfPersia?”, as well as tagging other Ubisoft employees in the tweet. You can view this tweet below.

The image clearly shows several Prince characters from different Prince of Persia games, with the furthermost image remaining a blank with a question mark. This could mean that, as the report suggested, they are developing an entirely new Prince for a whole new game. The UbiArt framework has been used in Rayman Legends and Child of Light to generate a hybrid 2D environment with 3D animated parts. This new game would return the Prince back to his side-scrolling days and may incorporate all new mechanics based on the use of the UbiArt framework. The series has been in hiatus since its last game in 2010, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, but could soon return if these rumors come true. Ubisoft has been busy with its newer IP Assassin’s Creed, confirming the release of both Assassin’s Creed Unity and Comet for this year.
