User Mod GeDoSaTo Releases Final Fantasy XIII PC From 720p Restriction

Final Fantasy xiii GeDoSaTo

Recently Gamer Headlines reported that SquareEnix had locked the PC Port of Final Fantasy XIII at 720p. However, an intrepid modder named Durante has released a new plug-in for his render-modifying application GeDoSaTo labeled “Barrage am Ring” that allows Final Fantasy XIII to achieve resolutions up to 3840×2160.

The plug-in is in pre-alpha, and under no circumstances does Gamer Headlines recommend you try an unofficial fix for a game unless you are willing to suffer the potential consequences related to pushing your hardware or software over the top.

Since its release this past October 9th, GeDoSaTo’s plug-in for the game has already received several patches, and if you are interested in reading all of the features and downloading this program you can check out Durante’s blog here.

You can see a video of the plug-in in action below:

The real question is, if a modder can make this work, why didn’t SquareEnix simply include the feature for those who have rigs to support it? Is this all a part of resolutiongate, where if some gamers can’t have it then no one can?

Will you give GeDoSaTo a try? Give us your thoughts in the comments.
