VGX Awards – Winners

by GH Staff

It has been a busy weekend over in Los Angeles, with VGX being in the spotlights for everyone working in the gaming industry, as well as millions of gamers world-wide. The highly anticipated VGX Awards were also announced, with both surprising and predictable outcomes. Here’s a quick recap for the major categories:

Game of The Year: Grand Theft Auto V

gta 5

GTA 5 went up against Bioshock Infinite, Tomb Raider, The Last Of Us and Super Mario 3D World, and came out victorious. There’s no real surprise here, and we’re expecting GTA V to get the GotY award from most major publications out there.

Best Studio of the Year: Naughty Dog

Naughtydog

Naughty Dog had stiff competition in Irrational Games (Bioshock Infinite), The Fullbright Company (Gone Home) and especially Rockstar North (GTA 5). Still, we congratulate the makers of The Last of Us and Uncharted for their very good year, and we’re hoping they will keep up the good work in upcoming projects!

Viewer Voted Awards

Viewers decided that the most anticipated game is Titanfall (defeating opponents such as The Witcher 3 or Destiny), the best character in 2013 games were the Lutece Twins from Bioshock (defeating Lara Croft from Tomb Raider and Trevor Philips from GTA 5), while the best mobile game of the year was Plants vs Zombies 2: It’s about time, a game that snatched the title from competing Angry Birds Star Wars or Infinity Blade 3.
