Classic PS One rhythm game Vib-Ribbon will be arriving on PS3 and PS Vita as a PS One Classic today. The game is known for being able to create unique levels based upon what music CD you used for the game. The game never originally released in North America so today marks the first time Vib-Ribbon has released in the States. The game will also be coming to Europe next week.
The announcement was made on the PlayStationBlog and you can read the full post here.
Vib-Ribbon was developed by NanaOn-Sha, the same developers who created PaRappa The Rappa. The game released in December 1999 in Japan and September 2000 in Europe. Vib-Ribbon is a rhythm game where you control the main character named Vibri. You must pass through all the obstacles to beat the level, each obstacle is represented by one of the buttons on the PlayStation controller and some obstacles can merge together meaning you must press two buttons at once. The game literally has infinite levels as the software loads into the PlayStations RAM, meaning that you can use any music CD you want to generate unique levels for Vibri to challenge.
Vib-Ribbon will be available later today in North America on PlayStation 3 and PS Vita from the PlayStation Store. Vib-Ribbon will be released in Europe on October 15th.
