Video Game Releases for the Week of 05/04/2015

by Archive

I may be getting ahead of myself by saying this, but E3 is only a month away now, which means releases are slowly starting to decrease in scale and amount as we head into the Summer. While we still have a couple of weeks until we get our hands on the highly anticipated The Witcher III, the week of May 4, 2015 has some decent-looking indie games releasing through all consoles, and we cannot forgot about the new standalone DLC for Wolfenstein: The New Order. Our picks for this week include the PC version of Project CARS (because yes; that is releasing this week), High StrangenessEther OneShadow of Mordor – GOTY EditionSMT: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker and Wolfenstein: The Old Blood. Enjoy this week’s video game releases!

[Note: All of the dates and prices listed below are for North American territories. Also, keep in mind that this list is subject to change with new games potentially announced or launching this week without notice.]

Competitive mech arena battles are arriving to the PS4 courtesy of AirMech Area, a highly competitive Real-Time Strategy game where players use their giant robots to amass combat forces and destroy enemy fortresses. • Chariot

Finally arriving on PS3, Chariot is a charming couch co-op-based Platformer where physics must be exploited and understood since you are pulling a funeral chariot the entire way through. Help the Princess and her Fiancé find the rightful resting place for their fallen King by exploring the many caves hidden under the kingdom and avoiding the many looters that roam them. We thought it was awesome in our original review.

  • Ether One

Through a first-person perspective, Ether One explains the fragility behind the human mind. It has a very interesting approach in which you can play through it free of puzzles and still understand the story behind it or go through a more adventurous path with complex puzzles. Regardless, you’ll be in for an excellent trip through the town of Pinwheel.

Packing in The Lord of the HuntThe Bright LordTrials of War and all the extra DLC found in the original game, Shadow of Mordor – Game of the Year Edition is the definitive way to play one of 2014’s best experiences. We thought it was simply outstanding in our original review.

  • Syberia II

Platform: PlayStation 3 (Digital Only)

Price: $TBD

For some strange reason, XS Games have decided to port the 2004-released Adventure game Syberia II to the PS3 more than a decade after the original game’s release. In it, you’ll explore Western and Eastern Europe in search of Hans Voralberg’s signature to secure a factory buyout.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker is an enhanced 3DS port of the DS-released title, including new content, full voice acting, new gameplay elements and much more. The real kicker with Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker is that it includes the Triangulum Arc, which takes place right after the original game’s ending. All things considered, you get 30-40 extra hours of gameplay within an RPG that is already 60-80 hours long.

  • Wolfenstein: The Old Blood
