To celebrate the last week of October, there are a staggering amount of titles with 24 games launching across all of the major platforms. Though I will be investing the most time in Sunset Overdrive and Lords of the Fallen, there is a selection of great titles such as The Unfinished Swan, Costume Quest 2 and Freedom Wars that release this week. Here’s the full list of games launching during the week of October 27.
Note: All of the dates and prices listed below are for North American territories. Also, keep in mind that this list is subject to change with new games potentially announced or launching this week without notice.
Monday October 27, 2014:
- Dungeon of the Endless
Platform: PC (Digital Only)
Prices: $11.59 for the Pixel Pack (10% Discount), $17.99 for the Founder Pack (10% Discount), $7.19 for the Pixel to Founder Pack (10% Discount)
Coming out of Steam Early Access, Dungeon of the Endless is a Rogue-Like Dungeon-Defense game where strategy and luck are at the forefront of the game. Your team of heroes will have to protect the dungeon’s generators in order to successfully escape the waves of monsters coming from all kinds of directions.
Tuesday October 28, 2014:
- Assassin’s Creed: The Americas Trilogy
Platforms: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC (Digital Only)
Price: $39.99
In this compilation of three Assassin’s Creed games taking place in the Americas, you’ll be able to explore the seas of the Caribbean as Edward Kenway from Black Flag, and experience the American Revolution with Connor from AC III and Aveline from Liberations. You get all of those games for 40$, not a bad deal.
- Battle Islands
Platform: PlayStation 4 (Digital Only)
Price: Free-to-Play
Set in the backdrop of World War II, Battle Islands is a Free-to-Play action-packed RTS where the player must fortify his defenses, amass vehicles, control troops and utilize every level of strategy to give him the upper hand. It has been re-built for PS4 with new controls, maps, UI and additional content.
- Big Hero 6: Battle in the Bay
Platforms: 3DS, DS
Price: $29.99
Set after the events of the Big Hero 6 movie, Battle in the Bay is an Action-Platformer where the heroes must save the city of San Fransokyo from a battlebot invasion. You’ll be able to test out each of the six playable characters’ special abilities within the 20 story levels included in Battle in the Bay.
- Blood of the Werewolf
Platform: PlayStation 3 (Digital Only)
Price: $9.99
Blood of the Werewolf is an intense Action Platformer involving a mother, named Selena, who must take on a quest to avenge her slain husband and save her child from evil monsters. It is a love letter to classic platformers and one you should definitely check out if you seek a challenging experience.
- Costume Quest 2
Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 (Digital Only on Both Platforms)
Price: $14.99
It’s Halloween this week, and what better game to celebrate than Costume Quest 2 on the PlayStation platforms. The sequel to Double Fine’s hit original game will have you go on another RPG adventure set during October 31. Will you be able to save Halloween forever?
- Deadfall Adventures: Heart of Atlantis
Platform: PlayStation 3 (Digital Only)
Price: $TBD
Inspired by the novels of H. Ridder Haggard, Deadfall Adventures: Heart of Atlantis is an Action-Adventure story set around Egypt, Arctic, and forgotten ruins of the Maya. This PS3 version features a new co-op survival mode with new bosses, cutscenes, areas, an improved leveling systems, and enhanced graphics.
- Freedom Wars
Platform: PlayStation Vita
Price: $29.99
Set in a futuristic Earth where the world lies in ruins and is no longer capable of supporting any life form, Freedom Wars is a tale about a war for freedom as criminals are forced to battle giant creatures in order to reduce their sentences. It’s a Third-Person Action game that involves a lot of tactical shooting in both solo and co-operative multiplayer form. It is certainly a must-have Vita title as it is one of the best-selling games for the platform over in Japan.

Platform: PlayStation 4 (Digital Only)
Price: $2.99
Originally released on PC in 2012, Home is an indie-developed Horror game with a player-driven story. You decide where you want to go and the ultimate outcome is all based on your decisions. Home will also be hitting the PlayStation Vita later this year, so you’ll be able to experience the scary story this title has to offer on the Sony handheld.
- #killallzombies
Platform: PlayStation 4 (Digital Only)
Price: $TBD
#killallzombies is a Third-Person Action Shooter that relies heavily on the social aspect of gaming. Though you can experience in its standard form by simply fighting through waves of enemies, stream viewers can impact the overall game by voting on player perks, spawns, and, ultimately, alter your chances in surviving for better or worse.
- Lords of the Fallen

Platforms: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC
Prices: $59.99 for the Console Versions, $49.99 for the PC Version
Often compared to games likes Dark Souls and Darksiders, Lords of the Fallen is an Action RPG involving linear exploration and challenging combat scenarios. As Harkyn, a convicted criminal whose sins are visible on his face, you’ll have to earn your redemption by making alliances, completing quests, and, most of all, battle foes with ever-increasing difficulty.
- MX Vs. ATV: Supercross

Platforms: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC
Price: $29.99
Following a few delays, MX Vs. ATV: Supercross, which had its rights purchase by Nordic Games after THQ’s bankruptcy, is finally launching this week. Featuring Motocross and Supercross bikes, players will be able to race through the Career mode with five different series. Multiplayer is also supported in this fifth installment of MX Vs. ATV franchise with up to 12 players online and two-player local Split-screen.
- NBA Live 15

Platforms: Xbox One, PlayStation 4
Price: $59.99
EA Sport’s newest entry in its basketball franchise, NBA Live 15, features photo-realistic visuals, real-time physics, ultra responsive controls, smarter AI, and over 500 other gameplay tweaks and improvements that are sure to enhance the overall basketball experience. Fans of the sport are sure to get their money’s worth with this title.
- Poltergeist: A Pixelated Horror

Platform: PlayStation Vita (Digital Only)
Price: $TBD
As the ghost of Mr. Henry B. Knight, your goal is to drive away anyone who dares enter your manor by manipulating the levels to scare them away. Featuring 60 levels across four different historic periods of the mansion, this is a great game to experience in time for Halloween.
- Power Rangers: Super Megaforce

Platform: 3DS
Price: $29.99
The Power Rangers are back and this time they have the help of Gosei, a supernatural guardian that allows them to morph into Super Megaforce Rangers to defeat the alien Armada attacking earth. It’s an action-packed 3DS title that give you access to multiple Legendary Ranger powers such as Zords and Megazords.
- SingStar: Ultimate Party

Platform: PlayStation 4 (Digital Only)
Price: $TBD
Sing the songs originally performed by artists such as Carly Rae Jepsen, Coldplay, Pharell Williams and Selena Gomez with Sony’s latest entry in the SingStar franchise. Additionally, you don’t even need a microphone to play Ultimate Party as the SingStar Mic app can be downloaded to your smart phone and used as a personal microphone.
- Sunset Overdrive

Platform: Xbox One
Price: $59.99
After an outbreak caused by a new energy drink, you must wipe out the fictional metropolis of Sunset City from the OD’d by grinding on rails, using zip-lines, and taking advantage of the crazy arsenal of weapons Insomniac Games is known to have in its games. Not only is Sunset Overdrive promising a delightful single-player experience, but it also has an eight-player co-op mode where you’ll be able to kill even more waves of enemies. If you have an Xbox One, this title is certainly one to look out for this week.
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Danger of the Ooze

Platforms: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, 3DS
Prices: $39.99 for the Console Versions, $29.99 for the 3DS Version
Take down Shredder, Tiger Claw, and other villains from the TMNT universe in the side-scrolling Action game from WayForward Danger of the Ooze. The game’s world is similar to a Metroidvania-type game where everything is interconnected and features non-linear exploration. If you want to know what happens between Season Two and Three of the Nickelodeon animated cartoon, then you should check out Danger of the Ooze.
- The Legend of Korra: A New Era Begins

Platform: 3DS
Price: $29.99
Based off the popular anime of the same named, The Legend of Korra: A New Era Begins has you playing as the powerful Avatar that must fight her way through strategic battles to stop the ancient evil that has emerged from a portal. You’ll be able to control the Air, Water, Fire and Earth elements to give you an extra edge in those battles.
- The Unfinished Swan

Platform: PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita (Digital Only on Both Platforms)
Price: $14.99 (Cross-Buy)
As Monroe, a 10-year-old orphan, you shall explore the mysterious white world all while painting it to discover new paths. It’s a very unique game that has its own charm and is very well stylized.
- Tiny Troopers: Joint Ops

Platforms: PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita (Digital Only on Both Platforms)
Price: $7.99 (Cross-Buy/Cross-Save)
Wired Productions is bringing its acclaimed mobile title Tiny Troopers: Joint Ops to PS3 and PS Vita platforms this week. It’s an epic bite-sized arcade shooter where you must control your Tiny Troopers into the battlefield to vanquish your adversaries. It also features the Cross-Buy and Cross-Save functionalities, meaning you’ll be able to enjoy the seven hours the game has to offer on-the-go or on your TV screen. Fear not PS4 users, a version of the game is in development and should launch very soon as well.
- WWE 2K15

Platforms: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3
Price: $59.99
Launching only on last gen systems this week, WWE 2K15 is the introduction to a brand new generation of wrestling experiences that has the most authentic WWE feel to date. The developers went all-in with this latest installment putting in a bunch of brand new modes and improving the overall gameplay mechanics.

- Tetrobot and Co.

Platform: Wii U (Digital Only)
Price: $9.99
Tetrobot and Co. is a puzzle game involving block movement and environmental analysis. Originally released on PC and receiving tons of praise, this title is now hitting the Wii U eShop, meaning you’ll be able to help Maya guide Psychobot through Tetrobot’s cogs and circuits to repair it.
- Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones

Platform: Wii U (Digital Only)
Price: $14.99
In this Wii U-exclusive sequel, your reflexes and brain will be tested over the 60 varied levels located within the sprawling overworld. It also features two-player co-op as well.
