Multiplayer combat tank game War Thunder has had some new DLC added to celebrate the first year anniversary of the release on PlayStation 4. The DLC has been released in the form of ‘War Thunder Advanced Packs’ on the PlayStation Store. Developers Gaijin Entertainment were very vocal about paid content, stating that it will not give an unfair combat advantage to any player.

‘With premium vehicles the idea is the same – they aren’t any better than regular planes and tanks in terms of combat performance, but provide increased rates for earned Research Points and Silver Lions in each battle. And this allows you to unlock other, regular vehicles, faster. Also, premium planes and tanks usually come with unique skins’

Another big announcement made by Gaijin Entertainment is the news of a new expansion coming soon. Entitled ‘Steel Generals’, the expansion will add over thirty new tanks to the game, including iconic tanks such as the Sherman and Patton.

War Thunder was released on PlayStation 4 back in November 2013 for Europe, and July 2014 for the US. The game is currently in open beta. The game is completely free to download and play, so if you’re interested you can check out the PlayStation Store and download it.
