Watch Dogs ‘Amazing Street Hack’ Live Action Prank Video

by GH Staff

Game marketing can sometimes be very over-the-top and creative, and this time it’s no different with the latest video promoting Watch Dogs. The ‘Amazing Street Hack’ video released by Ubisoft shows several unsuspecting customers who enter a store just to get their phone fixed and end up with an app that seemingly allows them to hack everything. Just like that, they’re amazed as they harness the hacking prowess of Aiden Pearce in the upcoming  title and the shopkeeper gives a very convincing act along the way. While things get a bit crazy and the people involved become worried, the presige is played off excellently and everyone is smiling and clapping. Take a look at the video below to see the very entertaining act.

While you could say that everyone involved, including the presumably clueless customers, are all just actors, the video still manages to get its point across. The video emphasizes the ability to hack anything and cause havoc, just like in Watch Dogs, and how just a phone can be your key to controlling just about everything. It doesn’t try to go into too deep of a philosophical lesson with this, since this is just marketing for the purpose of promotion and entertainment. However, if the reactions of the customers are to be believed, the ability to hack anything is ‘cool’. Watch Dogs launches on May 27 2014.
