Nintendo has revealed the list of new downloadable titles on its eShop for the week of September 4, 2014.
On the 3DS eShop:
- Tappingo 2 ($2,99)
Tappingo 2 is the sequel to the original Tappingo that was released last February. The second installment in the series will feature 100 new puzzles and a brand new zoom mode that makes things easier. Pick it up on the eShop for the low low price of $3, the same as the original Tappingo.
- THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY CURTAIN CALL (Free Demo)
Nintendo is offering you the chance to try out the sequel to the first Final Fantasy rhythm game, THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY CURTAIN CALL, which will launch on September 16, 2014. Featuring 221 songs from the Final Fantasy universe and 60 playable characters, players will have to tap to the beat and harmonies to earn the highest scores possible.
On the 3DS Virtual Console:
- Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight ($4,99)
25 years after its original debut on NES, Ken is back and ready to go through the galaxy to take on his friend’s murderer. This side-scrolling platforming adventure deviates from Street Fighter’s roots, making it feel more like a brand new game instead of a Street Fighter game. Nonetheless, you can help Ken to find justice in his journey by download this title on the 3DS Virtual Console.
On the Wii U eShop:
- Cubemen 2 ($7,99)
Cubemen 2 is finally making its way to the Wii U console after being released on PC, Mac and iOS. It’s a unique 3D strategy game where you control Cubemen units to attack and defend various objectives. Play through the Campaign mode or in the 6 player Online Multiplayer with game types ranging from Capture the Flag, Skirmish, King of the Hill and more.
- Ice Cream Surfer ($TBD)
With the help of the Ice Cream Surfer and four of his friends, you must defeat the evil Broccoli who tries to replace all of ice cream by vegetable. Challenge the game’s 6 different worlds with their own giant boss fights at the end of each one. You can also play Ice Cream Surfer in two player simultaneous co-op and enjoy the epic soundtrack as well as the cute 16-Bit visuals with a friend of yours.
On the Wii U Virtual Console:
- Nobunaga’s Ambition ($7,99)
Nobunaga’s Ambition is a massive strategy game taking place during the Sengoku era of Japan. As a Japanese general, your must unify the country under a single banner during this time of great conflict. Released 30 years ago, this is a great opportunity to experience the game that eventually sparked games like Dynasty Warriors.
And finally, eShop sales:

This title is 30 percent off until September 15. It now costs $2,79 instead of $3,99.

One thing that is worth mentioning is that Nintendo is planning to discount certain 3DS titles to celebrate the release of Super Smash Bros. 3DS. The sale is will have up to 33 percent off on games that made some of our favorite fighters famous. This week’s character will feature Mario, Yoshi and more classic characters. Though, at the time of this write-up, Nintendo hasn’t given us more detail on what to expect out of this sale.
