Nintendo has revealed the list of new downloadable titles and sales on its North American 3DS and Wii U eShops for the week of October 16, 2014. This week features a lot of indie titles as well as big discounts on multiple games.
On the 3DS eShop:
- The Legend of the Dark Witch ($3.99)
In this 2D Action-Platformer, you play as the dark witch Zizou who must retrieve the Syega crystals that are plunging the world into darkness. With its diverse levels that provide a decent challenge throughout the game’s three difficulty modes, you’ll need to learn new attacks to defeat bosses in order to save the world.
- Pyramids 2 ($4.99)
Enjoy Gaming is bringing Pyramids back with the sequel to the popular puzzle game. Featuring 54 new levels and three new pyramid worlds, Pyramids 2 is a much more diversified experience with its puzzle variety and new game mechanics. Additionally, the game has a built-in Editor, which allows you to create your own customized puzzles.
On the Wii U eShop:
- Ballpoint Universe: Infinite ($4.99)
In this indie shooter entirely made with hand-drawn sketches, you must explore immaculate worlds and take on the 16 missions the game has to offer. You’ll also be able to customize your Ink-Ship to ornate the ballpoint sketches.
- Lone Survivor: The Director’s Cut ($9.99)
As a masked protagonist, you must escape a city that has been ravaged by a deadly disease. It’s a 2D side-scrolling Survival-Horror experience that puts the emphasis on player choice. For example, you can choose whether or not you want to search for survivors or escape the city all alone, or even if you want to sneak your way through the game or kill everything in sight. Additionally, the Director’s Cut of Lone Survivor adds new dialogue, puzzles, quests, items and endings as well.
- Paper Monster Recut ($7.99)
This classic 2D Platformer has been redesigned in a 3D space, giving it a brand new life on the Wii U. Featuring new and redesigned levels, space areas, power-ups and enemies, Paper Monster Recut is a great feeling Platformer that is sure to please gamers of any age.
- Chest O’Booty ($1.99)
Chest O’Booty is not your typical Match-Three game; you must perform the arithmetic to reduce the weight of your stolen goods to make sure that your ship does not sink in the process. It also features 2-player multiplayer, so that you can play with one of your pirate buddies.
- Ping 1.5+ ($4.99)
Ping 1.5+ doesn’t shy away from its notoriously hard difficulty curve. In this new arcade-style puzzle game inspired by the retro days of gaming, you must shoot cubes to reach an orange. This sounds simple enough, but the question is: will you be able to get through its 100 levels? You’ll have to because the world’s fate will be in your hands.
On the 3DS Virtual Console:
- Harvest Moon 2 ($4.99)
The GameBoy Color Farming experience arrives on the 3DS Virtual Console this week with Harvest Moon 2. Since the objective of the game is to restore the farm’s glory, you’ll have to complete a wide variety of chores to improve your farm and turn it into an investment.
On the Wii U Virtual Console:
- Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance ($7.99)
Five years after the curse of Dracula had been broken by Simon Belmont, his descendant, Juste Belmont must explore the iconic vampire’s castle in order to find his missing friend, Lyrie Erlanger.
