The past few years haven’t been that great for Nintendo, poor sales of the Wii U have led to a loss this financial year as well as allowing Sony to take the lead with console sales. E3 2014 allowed Nintendo to show off what exclusives they’ve been working on for the Wii U.
1) Hyrule Warriors
Link is back in a cross-over title that is taking the combat action from Dynasty Warriors and mixing it with the adventure of Legend of Zelda. No more puzzles or dungeons, just pure all out hack and slash fun. Hyrule Warriors will feature characters from the Lergend of Zelda universe battling it out in this explosive action game. It will be hitting stores in North America on 26th September and Europe on 19th September.
2) Super Smash Bros
Ever since the days of the GameCube, children and adults alike have enjoyed battling it out in this title and it’s finally coming to the Wii U. Boasting new secret characters, changes in game play and connectivity with the 3DS. Super Smash Bros will be hitting the shelves towards the end of this year.
3) Star Fox
It’s been a while since Star Fox has graced a console, being stuck on Nintendo’s handheld devices hasn’t really helped his gaming career. Miyamato himself, the creator of Mario, will be working on this title himself to ensure that Star Fox’s debut on the Wii U will give Nintendo the much needed boost in sales.
4) Mario Maker
This title will allow you to design your very own Mario levels whilst allowing you to test and share them with the Nintendo community.
5) Bayonetta 2
Bayonetta made an impact when it was released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 with over 1 million units sold worldwide. Nintendo have now scooped the title up and are releasing it for the Wii U Exclusively this October. A more adult orientated game, will this game be too much for Nintendo’s usually family safe games?
