So would you spend $100 real world money on fictional pistols in micro-transactions in Assassin’s Creed Unity?

Have you ever played through an Assassin’s Creed game and seen an expensive piece of equipment that you can’t afford and wished that their was some way you could get it without having to grind missions? Well you’re in luck because there are micro-transactions in Assassin’s Creed Unity for an optional in-game currency called “Helix Credits”.

Look at these bargain prices for micro-transactions in Assassin's Creed Unity.

Look at these prices for micro-transactions in Assassin’s Creed Unity.

An image used in a review of the game by Kotaku revealed that players can spend up to $100 real world money in order to get 20,000 helix credits, although you can also pay $19.99 to get either 1400 or 3200 helix credits. The amount of helix credits you’ll get will also increase or decrease  depending on how much will be given as part of some “extra rewards”.

With these helix credits you’ll be able to buy temporary stat boosts to make solo gameplay easier as well as weapons and equipment to customize Arno with. To be fair Assassin’s Creed Unity has an impressive amount of equipment available to purchase to modify how you play with over 200 pieces of equipment and around 100 weapons, but the prices seem a bit step. For example the Improved Bourgeois Coat which upgrades your health, melee damage, blend fade time and restricted area detection time will cost you either 4,900 in-game currency or 600 helix credits. Micro-transactions in games are nothing new but micro-transactions in a $60 game that can go up to $100 are a bit much.

In a review by Kotaku they revealed that players can spend over $100 in micro-transactions in Assassin’s Creed Unity in order to “hack” in a in-game currency called helix credits. These helix credits can be used to buy temporary stat upgrades for single player or gear for Arno at cheaper prices in with the normal in-game currency.
