Judging by a handful of recently leaked images from a new Windows 10 build, Microsoft’s new operating system will be receiving an Xbox app that will reportedly allow users to access the Xbox store, their Xbox Live achievements, activity feeds, friend lists, among many other features from their personal computer.

The images come from a leaked consumer build of Microsoft’s Windows 10 – known as 9901. Microsoft has not officially acknowledged the validity of the leak, however, messages shown in various images tell users of the aforementioned Xbox app that it is merely an early development preview.

It also appears that Build 9901 also details how Microsoft’s digital personal assistant “Cortana” will be integrated into the upcoming operating system.

Furthermore, other messages tell users to check back frequently to take note of what has changed, implying that the Xbox app may possibly receive additional features further along in development.

This Windows 10 leak conveniently coincides with Microsoft’s recent announcement regarding Xbox head Phil Spencer’s upcoming appearance at a Windows 10 event known as “The Next Chapter.”

Additionally, towards the end of last week, Spencer tweeted the following, lending more credence to Microsoft’s recent emphasis on PC gaming:

Regardless, it appears that Microsoft is grooming Windows 10 to serve as a sort of portal for gamers – allowing comprehensive access to their Xbox Live experience through their PC.
