World of WarCraft: Something new or more of the old?

by GH Staff

Since the release of the first World of WarCraft game it has managed to change not only the lives of many, but the whole gaming community and world as a whole. Years after that the franchise is up and going and Blizzard have announced they are making yet another expansion.

WOW: Warlords of Draenor  will include a whole new continent with 7 new zones where you may level up your character once again, this time reaching the level cap of 100, and 1 new PvP zone. You will be able to build and upgrade your garrison and experience the looting and grinding of 6 amazing new dungeons and 2 new raids. New talents, abilities and so on, haven’t we heard this story before?

Time and time again Blizzard is offering ‘new’ stuff to WoW players, yet time and time again we have yet to see something new. Yes, the territories are new, the raids are new, the level cap is new, probably you will have different quests, new talents, but at the end isn’t it all the same?

There are two sides of every coin. Yes the answer to the above question may be positive; however, if you are sick of the game, you don’t need to play it. Blizzard is offering this new content, because their fan base and the people who play WoW need it and are excited for it. If you have played WoW, but got tired of the idea, you don’t need to rush and get the new expansion expecting something mind-blowing. You may just continue forward and expect WoW 2 or something like that in the near feature – something big, something different; something we have no information about.

Whatever, WoW haters may say, Warlords of Draenor expansion would bring some unique changes to the WarCraft world, we haven’t seen before. Blizzard is doing an amazing job and is renovating all of their character models and skins. They are adding more detail and flexibility, more facial expressions and as a whole they are making them more alive. They are making a major change in the quest system; and although there isn’t much information about it, it is known that you will be able to receive rare and epic items from the completion of any quest, purely by chance. This will definitely stir up the economy in the game and will make the game a little bit different, because if you are lucky you may get a unique item, someone else spent hours, maybe days to get for a raid boss of some sort.

The battleground score will also be improved as we also see UI Improvements and new rewards. There won’t be any new PvP modes released; however in the new PvP zone, people who play WoW: Warlords of Draenor will be able to experience the new arena called ‘Trail of the Gladiator.’ As to the PvE elements of the game, except for getting new ones, dungeons and raids will get a noticeable improvement as you will experience a whole new raid structure, now including not only normal and heroic dungeons, but also ‘Mythic’ ones.

The release of the new models of the characters is certain, but not yet announced to when all the models will be available. The most common suggestion is that Blizzard will be updating firstly the vanilla races and that the Blood Elves and the Draeneis will come last. It is expected that we will see some of the updated models with the release of the expansion and others with the upcoming patches of WoW: Warlords of Draenor.

More information about WoW: Warlords of Draenor is going to be released in the upcoming months, as the release date itself is yet unknown. Speculations are made that we will see this new expansion as soon as February, others are planning that Blizzard will release it in late 2014. As long as we are waiting there is nothing else to do, but enjoy the nice trailer of the game and return in the big World of WarCraft to get ready for the next chapter in the series.
