Xbox Live Call of Duty: Ghosts Multiplayer Demo Drops March 7

Activision and Infinity Ward, publisher and developer respectively, have made the decision to allow for the multiplayer of its most recent Call of Duty title, Call of Duty: Ghosts, to be made available for free on Xbox Live this coming weekend. Wrapped up in a nice demo package, those of you who own an Xbox 360 or an Xbox One will have a chance to play the modern-day shooter’s multiplayer starting from this Friday (March 7) until next Monday (March 10), the day before Titanfall drops in the US.

The multiplayer demo will included a limited amount of maps and gamemodes. Specifically, you’ll be able to shoot up three maps and three gamemodes, as well as the game’s cooperative gamemode Extinction to boot. For those participating in the demo, you’ll be able to access maps Strikezone, Warhawk and Prison Break. What’s more, you’ll also be able to access the Team Deathmatch, Search and Rescue and Domination gamemodes.

This multiplayer demo will be isolated from the full Call of Duty: Ghosts game, so you won’t have to worry about some other player, who perhaps has a load more of experience, swooping down and ruining your day. The progress you accumulate in the demo, however, will not carry over to the full game if you choose to buy it after experiencing the demo.

Last year, Call of Duty: Ghosts became the best-selling title on PlayStation Network in November, 2013, and its RAM requirements were reduced below 6Gb, which gave PC gamers who don’t have a lot of excess RAM less of a brick wall to work with.

Call of Duty: Ghosts’ multiplayer demo will start at 10am PST this Friday and will end next Monday.
