After smoking and being down for 16 hours, now multiple users have reported that the sound is not working in certain games or there is no sound at all! Owners of an Xbox One say that even with the by Microsoft delivered cable the sound won’t work.
One user said to have no sound in the game Killer Instinct but after he restarted it, it all went back to normal. However another user on the Xbox One Support Forum experienced sound issues as well but this time it would be sometimes on, sometimes off. It is not yet determined whether this is a hardware or software bug.
If you lost the sound, do not worry! We have found a few solutions that might work:
Changing any setting in the display and sound menu on the xb1 restores my sound
i have directtv and my sound would disappear and i would have to reset the receiver. i tried 2 different hdmi cables one is a high quality monster cable for my other system. both did same thing. i put the supplied cable from directtv to xbox and its been working great since.
