It is no doubt that the Galaxy Note 4 is an awesome phablet, even though before its launch it encountered some issues, but Samsung has already offered a software update. The device overall is more advanced than most its competitors such as the Sony T2 Ultra.
Sizes, Displays, and Designs
There is another big smartphone that offers a great design; the Xperia Z2 Ultra offers another competitor to the phablet trend. The smartphone offers a glossy plastic design with metal imitated side rims, and two speaker grills placed on the front panel. At the top is the earpiece, and at the bottom is the microphone, but what you won’t care for is the fingerprint magnet on the phone. The display measures a 6 inch IPS LCD triluminos display that offers a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution with 245ppi pixel density. Sony uses the Mobile BRAVIA engine 2, which provides a better viewing experience, and you are able to see the smallest details and get to zoom in on texts. The Sony devices measures 165.2 x 83.8 x 7.7mm dimensions, and offers to versions the D5306 that weighs 172.4 grams and the D5303 at 171.7 grams.
Unbelievably the Galaxy Note 4 is thicker and smaller with 153.5 x 78.6 x 8.5 mm dimensions, and weighs only 176 grams. It comes with the S Pen stylus that is popular, and has an integrated fingerprint sensor in the home button. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coats the Super AMOLED display that measuring 5.7 inches, and has a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution with a 515ppi pixel density. OS and Hardware
In terms of processor speed, the Galaxy Note 3 is much faster than the Note 4, as it came with four cores with Krait 450 and speed of 2.7GHz. The T2 Ultra quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU clocks at 1.4GHz. Samsung chooses to use the Exynos 5433 chipset on the Note 4 which is supported by the Adreno 420 GPU. Qualcomm MSM8928 Snapdragon 400 chipset supports the Sony phablet, and also is supported by the Adreno 305 GPU, which is older.
The Note 4 houses 3GB of RAM, which has a better advantage over the T2 Ultra, and a bigger internal memory capacity of 32GB, which can be expanded with 128GB. The T2 Ultra runs on 1GB of RAM and offers only 8GB of internal memory capacity, but can be increased up to 32GB of expandable memory.
Both devices are Android based, with the T2 Ultra running on Jelly Bean v4.3 that can be upgraded to KitKat v4.4.2, and the Note 4 comes on KitKat v4.4.4.
Cameras
Both the Sony and the Samsung offer great cameras. However, the Note 4 offers a greater performance with their 16MP resolution that comes with HDR, dual shot, autofocus, LED flash, optical image stabilization, and other features. The T2 Ultra rear camera offers 13MP which features sweep panorama, HDR, autofocus, LED flash, and other features. The Note 4 also has a better front camera with 3.7MP resolution, while the T2 Ultra offers a front camera of 1.1MP.
Batteries
The non-removable battery of Sony houses a 3000mAh that provides up to 24 hours of talk time on 3G. The Note 4’s 3220 mAh battery capacity allows for up to 5 hours of on-screen time, with more hours for talk time.

Both devices can be found for around a good price with Xperia T2 Ultra a little cheaper on Amazon.com for $255. While the Galaxy Note 4 can also be found on Amazon.com for $845.
