Ubisoft’s Wii U exclusive ‘ZombiU’ maybe getting a sequel.
Amazon France are well know for leaking the existence of video games and they are at it again, the online retailer listed ZombiU 2 for the Wii U, the listing was almost immediately taken down, however it was on the retailer’s website long enough for Juexvideo to screenshot the listing. The description of the game reveals that ZombiU 2 might take place in New York as opposed to gritty suburban London like its predecessor. The price of ZombiU 2 was listed as 39.99 EUR, while this is a normal price point for Wii U titles in mainland Europe there are signs which point to this just being a mistake and ZombiU 2 not actually existing.
The first issue with the listing is that the publisher for ZombiU 2 is apparently Namco Bandai, if ZombiU 2 where to actually exist, it would almost certainly be published by Ubisoft, the owner of the ZombiU franchise in addition to the publisher of the 2012 Wii U launch title ZombiU. Another issue with the listing is that the release date is October 17th 2015, a Saturday. Video games never release on Saturdays, even in Europe, so it is unlikely that the 17th would be used as a place holder date.
Since Nintendo, Ubisoft or Namco Bandai have not officially commented on the subject, the listing of ZombiU 2 should be taken with a pinch of salt.
