Release date and Alpha Demo
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember will launch on March 4, 2027, KOEI TECMO GAMES producer Masakazu Hirayama announced on the PlayStation.Blog. The dark Three Kingdoms action RPG also has an Alpha Demo live today, available until September 30. The demo lets players try part of the Changban stage, using Chinese martial arts that blend offense and defense, traversing a Three Kingdoms battlefield overrun by demons, and fighting legendary heroes from history. A new trailer showcases the hero and Three Kingdoms figures battling demons.
Evolved combat and open battlefields
Combat balances offense and defense. Players can use Deflect to nullify and redirect enemy attacks, along with Martial Arts techniques and weapons. Insight Skills are key in Wo Long 2, enhancing the protagonist’s actions: they can stave off and counter attacks, send foes crashing into walls, or slam enemies that strike from above down to the ground.
Famous Three Kingdoms battlefields such as Changban and the Red Cliffs are depicted as open fields, but not as ancient China you’ve read about. Expansive maps include enemy strongholds and demonic lairs, and players can choose how to approach them. Strategies include flanking enemy lines, capturing bases, setting traps, or recruiting enemy generals to turn the tide when odds are stacked against you.
Story, co-op, and pre-order bonuses
Wo Long 2 unfolds an original story in a dark fantasy version of the Three Kingdoms, where elixirs of immortality and demons inspired by Chinese classical literature exist alongside the era’s greatest warriors. Characters from the previous title continue to play important roles, but the story is designed so newcomers can enjoy it without feeling lost. Multiplayer co-op and character creation are featured and can be enjoyed in the limited-time Alpha Demo.
Defeating the boss Wuzhiqi earns the special Fledgling Phoenix Helmet for the full game. The development team asks players to share feedback in a survey. Pre-orders are available starting today; the digital pre-order bonus includes the full Creator Goddess Garb set. A Digital Deluxe Edition is also available, including the Season Pass, digital mini soundtrack, and digital mini art book.
