Square Enix has confirmed that A Nocturne for Heroes, the FINAL FANTASY XV collaboration event for FINAL FANTASY XIV, is returning this week. The crossover opens on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 1:00 a.m. PDT, which is 8:00 GMT (9:00 a.m. BST and 18:00 AEST), and it closes on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at 7:59 a.m. PDT, which is 14:59 GMT (15:59 BST), or Wednesday, October 14 at 1:59 a.m. AEDT. Square Enix shared the schedule in a Steam Community announcement published on September 22, 2026. The event returns as FINAL FANTASY XIV keeps moving through its current patch cycle, which recently added the Beastmaster limited job in Patch 7.56, and Square Enix has regularly detailed the MMO’s plans through announcement showcases.
The crossover brings FINAL FANTASY XV content into FINAL FANTASY XIV, and the event gives FINAL FANTASY XIV players another chance to earn rewards tied to the FINAL FANTASY XV crossover. The standout is the Regalia Type-G, a four-seater mount that can carry up to four players at once, drawn from the world of FINAL FANTASY XV. Square Enix also lists the Lucian Prince costume set, a Modern Aesthetics hairstyle called Lucian Locks, and orchestrion rolls, the in-game music tracks, with additional items offered as well. Square Enix urged players not to miss the rewards on offer.
How to start A Nocturne for Heroes
Players need to meet two conditions before the event quest becomes available. The character must be level 50 or above, and the player must have completed “The Ultimate Weapon,” the main scenario quest. Once both requirements are satisfied, the quest “The Man in Black” can be started by speaking to Kipih Jakkya in Ul’dah, Steps of Nald, at the coordinates X:8.5 Y:9.7.
Identical run with a replay option
Square Enix noted that this return is identical to the version of the event previously held, so returning players will recognize both the quests and the reward lineup. Anyone who already completed A Nocturne for Heroes can revisit its quests through the seasonal event replay feature, and the company points players to the special site for more information on how that feature works.
