Warframe’s Epoch Operation: Taubound begins October 15 and ends November 17. Digital Extremes is running the one-time community event as a cooperative challenge to fuel the trip to the distant Star System Tau. Megan Everett, Director of Community at Digital Extremes, published the details on Xbox Wire on October 13, 2026. Warframe debuted on Xbox One in 2014, and Digital Extremes has supported it for more than 13 years with cross-play and cross-save.

The event loop centers on a new resource called Moonflesh. Players enter missions on Eris in the Origin System, destroy Infested enemies, and obtain Moonflesh. That Moonflesh is then turned in to power the Sentient Mothership named Praghasa, and players can trade Moonflesh for event rewards.

Epoch Operation Taubound runs from October 15 to November 17, a span of about one month, and is described as a one-time event. Prologue to Tau is a permanent addition to the Quest Codex for players who meet the quest requirements.

Epoch Operation: Taubound first appeared in the October 2026 roadmap, which also introduced The Icebind, the experimental six-player mode that is now live.

From Eris Infested Kills to Praghasa Power

The event flow is step by step. First, new and returning players jump into missions on Eris in the Origin System. Second, they destroy Infested enemies to earn Moonflesh. Third, they turn in Moonflesh to power Praghasa, the Sentient Mothership. Finally, participants claim event rewards from the available pool. The event goal is to power Praghasa enough for the trip to Tau.

The reward pool includes brand-new Armor Sets, exclusive event Honoria, Somachords, and cosmetics ranging from Glyphs, Sigils, Floofs, Syandanas, Signas, Badges, and Blueprints. The Xbox Wire announcement does not list item quantities or stat values.

The studio has teased the far-future Tau narrative for years and says the community finally goes to Tau together this year. Warframe’s cross-play and cross-save systems mean the event and Prologue to Tau arrive with content parity across platforms.

Prologue to Tau Brings a Playable Lotus and a Permanent Quest

Prologue to Tau is arriving alongside the event as a bite-sized entry in the single-player cinematic quest campaign. Players go hands-on with The Lotus for the first time, as seen during TennoLIVE 2026. They can use the Vessel they customized during TennoCon on the surface of Eris in a unique level and face off in a massive Infested boss fight.

This quest content is permanent and sits in Warframe’s Quest Codex. It is available to players who have completed The Hex and The Old Peace quests. Prologue to Tau remains accessible after November 17 for qualifying accounts.

Taubound Details Still Left Open

The source does not specify exact reward quantities or stat values for the armor, Honoria, Somachords, or cosmetics. It also leaves open whether Moonflesh or Praghasa progress will carry over after November 17. Digital Extremes has not confirmed whether the Infested boss in Prologue to Tau can be soloed or requires a squad, and the exact date Prologue to Tau unlocks is not given. Platform-specific differences beyond the Xbox framing are not detailed, although Warframe has cross-play and cross-save and content parity across platforms.
