Crytek is bringing Twitch Drops back to Hunt: Showdown 1896 for two weeks starting October 26 at 15:00 UTC, with the campaign running through November 9 at 15:00 UTC. The drops are timed to Halloween and Twitch’s Stream-o-Ween event, according to the announcement on the official Hunt: Showdown site. The game runs on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

More than 20 drops are on the table, unlocking 128 rewards in total. The schedule is split into five windows: two in week one and three in week two. Crytek says the extra windows give players room to claim fresh rewards and finish off their Legendary Hunter collection.

Two ways to earn

Players can earn drops through two separate tracks. Watch-time rewards go to anyone who watches Hunt: Showdown 1896 streams, and week one includes Supply Crates, the Leap of Faith Stamina Shot skin, and a random Legendary skin. The Support-a-Streamer track returns for week one and rewards viewers who back Hunt streamers with subscriptions or gifted subs.

The distinction between the two tracks shapes how people watch. Watch-time rewards are passive: leave a stream running and the timer accrues. Support-a-Streamer rewards are active, gated behind spending on a streamer’s channel. Splitting them means free viewers still earn, while the campaign also funnels support to Hunt’s partner creators during the Halloween window, which is the point of running it alongside Stream-o-Ween rather than on a quiet week.

Claiming any of it requires linking your Twitch account to your Hunt: Showdown account. Crytek points players to its Twitch Drops page for the linking steps and FAQ, and to the Partners page for a list of streamers whose channels qualify for drops. Watching a random Hunt stream that is not on the partner list does not count toward the rewards.

What is on the reward list

The marquee items are Head Taker, a Legendary Hunter, and two new Legendary skins: Leap of Faith for the Stamina Shot and Hide and Seek for Choke Bombs. Crytek explicitly frames the campaign as a way to complete a Legendary Hunter collection. The remaining rewards fill out the rest of the 128 across the five windows.

Some drops clearly bundle several rewards together, which is how a campaign with more than 20 drops hands out well over a hundred items. Five windows also mean nobody collects the full list in one sitting. Each window carries its own slice, so players have to return repeatedly, which keeps Hunt streams populated across the whole fortnight instead of spiking on day one.

Crytek also added fallback options for players who already own some of those items. A drop for a skin you already own is a dead slot unless the campaign gives you something else, and long-time hunters are the ones most likely to already hold Head Taker or the older skins. The fallback keeps the campaign worth watching for those players instead of rewarding only newcomers.

Why the timing lines up

The drops land in the middle of Blood Testament, the current in-game event whose second chapter brought back Inferno and revealed the All Hallows’ Cleave event. Stream-o-Ween is Twitch’s Halloween streaming event, and Crytek’s blog links to it as the campaign’s seasonal anchor. The Steam announcements for the campaign carry the Blood Testament label, and the window runs straight through Halloween on October 31. The same content pipeline just delivered the 2.9.1 update with the Cursed Kin story challenge, so the Twitch campaign lands in the middle of a busy stretch for Hunt: Showdown 1896 rather than filling a quiet patch gap.

Halloween is the franchise’s natural season, and stacking an in-game event, a patch, and a Twitch campaign in the same two weeks concentrates returning players in one window. For a live-service shooter, that concentration is what keeps matchmaking healthy, which is a benefit the reward list alone does not explain.

What to do before the campaign opens

Drops begin October 26 at 15:00 UTC, which leaves a short window to link your Twitch and Hunt: Showdown accounts and pick a streamer from the Partners list before the first rewards window opens. Watch time and streamer support only count once the accounts are linked, so waiting until after the start means missing the earliest drops in week one’s first window.
