Since its release back in 2012, New Super Mario Bros. 2 has had a total of 10 DLC packs, each coming with three additional Coin Rush stages. That adds up to a massive 30 extra stages, all of which will be included in the new 2DS bundle, Nintendo has announced. Currently only confirmed for a European release, the game will already be pre-installed – however, no pricing has yet been revealed.

What’s in the box? The 2DS console, a digital copy of New Super Mario Bros. 2 as well as the 30 extra levels.
The 2DS was released in 2013 and supports all 3DS and DS titles along with their digital versions, however the 3D function isn’t available. 3DS features such as touch-screen, wireless connectivity, and dual screens are still a part of the 2DS, it’s only the 3D functionality that is the difference. The bundle will be available July 4, and if the price is good enough, this could be a potentially beneficial package considering 10 DLC packs are already pre-installed. New Super Mario Bros. 2 is the ideal game for the sole purpose of a 2DS, it doesn’t require 3D features to appreciate. Definitely a good way to start your 2DS adventure if you’re a first time buyer of the console.
