According to a recent interview with Eurogamer, Activison has revealed that the Playstation-exclusive content for Bungie’s Destiny will remain exclusive to Playstation until “fall 2015”.
Prior reports seemed to indicate that much like certain console exclusives in the past, this Playstation exclusive was intended to be a timed exclusive. Any DLC extras and missions in Destiny were predicted to have been timed for Playstation.
This news comes not too long after an announcement earlier this month in which Sony outlined all of the exclusives that Playstation owners would receive from Destiny. At launch, Playstation owners of Destiny will have access to a co-op mission, a multiplayer map, armor, guns and ships.
This move could generate huge momentum towards Sony sales regarding Bungie’s Destiny. There is no doubt that a year of exclusivity to one of the most highly anticipated releases this year is a huge blow to Sony’s main competitor, the Xbox.
