Over the final weekend of The Steam Summer Sale the Valve’s platform hit a new all time high usage record with over 8 million concurrent users, this according to the Steam Stats page (sourced from a user on NeoGAF).
Valve’s Digital distribution platform has reached a new milestone, hitting a peak usage of 8,020,813 on the 29th of June around midday PDT. The Steam Summer Sale started on the 19th and is set to conclude on the 30th of June at 7:00 a.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PDT.
This new record smashes the previous one which Steam reached in December of last year with 7.5 million users online. During Steam Dev Days in January, Valve announced that their platform has increased to 75 million active users.
