Bungies latest and upcoming title “Destiny” has been all over the news and internet with it’s recent Alpha Testing for the public, and now Destiny is back in the spotlight with gamers petitioning to have the hit game ported onto the WiiU of all consoles.
The hype behind Destiny has been been unreal and ever-growing, even as I type gamers are growing in excitement for it’s release and more news towards the game, yet out of the blue there is now a petition at Change.org which has users pledging to have Bungie release Destiny for the Nintendo WiiU Console.
The question I have to personally ask i “Why the WiiU?” it’s understandable that Nintendo and PC users feel a little left out with the current Destiny Build being released on Xbox 360, Xbox One and Playstation 3 and Playstation 4, however whilst the WiiU is a strong and quickly growing console, it lacks some of the features that would be needed for Destiny to be fair and run in comparison to the other console editions. not only that but Bungie would need to implement the WiiU game pad to the game and could result in unbalanced game editions.
Overall I simply don’t see this petition giving an effect to Destiny’s release, even if 10,00 or 100,00 people signed the petition, the port would require more money, time and effort to release for a console that could flop their sales or simply be unable to run the game at a good frame rate without some major tweaking, maybe in the future an alternate edition of Destiny could be released for WiiU and other platforms but for now I feel the full Destiny IP will not be ported to the WiiU, Sorry Nintendo gamers.
