There has been a lot of competition in the speed-running community lately including the recent World Record being beaten for the platforming game “Spelunky” now however a new record has been set in the cult classic and historic first-person shooter “Halo”
A gamer by the username of “Goatrope” has beaten and set the new world record for his complete speed run of Halo: Combat Evolved on it’s hardest difficulty, overall he completed the game in an impressive 1:3640:69 and like most speed run record breakers he recorded it live on Twitch.TV.
While the record may not sound impressive to some, remember that the game has been given a 9 – 10 hour completion time average without the exploits and shortcuts that Goatrope has so expertly used, even with the exploits however Goatrope died a total of 7 times which is quite impressive considering the games difficulty, however at the end of his run Goatrope appears to be less than pleased with his run, stating “World’s Worst World Record…”
Personally I feel while this speed runner may have missed some shortcuts and choked up a few times he still made a very impressive and momentous run that should hold high and a challenge to beat.
