Earlier today over Twitter, Microsoft executive Phil Spencer confirmed that Halo would be making an appearance at this year’s E3. He however didn’t allude to any further details, leaving the fans to speculate about where 343 Industries plans to take the series, although Spencer did show confidence in the studio’s goal.
@MarvelousJoJo Halo news will be coming at E3. 343i has a great plan in place, will be cool to share with everyone.

While it is most likely that we will receive more details on Halo 5, the sequel to 2012’s record-setting Halo 4, leading the charge on rumours is a possible Halo 2 Anniversary edition. While nothing has been confirmed to give the Halo 2 rumours any real credibility, conflicting information coming from Steve Downes, the voice actor of the Master Chief, and complete vagueness from Microsoft has lead to fans not giving up hope.
Which Halo journey would you like to experience in 2014? Do you want to join the Master Chief in the continuation of his more personal story in Halo 5? Or go back in time and replay a familiar setting in Halo 2, re-skinned and refined for the current generation of consoles? Personally I could go either way. Halo 5 looks like it could be an incredible game (I mean, if we get to fight the creature shown in the teaser, then I might just cry a little from the overwhelming joy), while Halo 2 would be just as amazing to play again – maybe they could even redesign it to be closer to their original vision that involved a much more open world approach, aspects of which can still be found in the final version. Don’t believe me? Go and play the fourth level, Outskirts, and I promise you that you can complete the majority of that level, up until the beach, just by jumping over rooftops.
