Assassin’s Creed Rogue may be coming to PC says Ubisoft

Assassin's Creed Rogue PC version confirmed

Ubisoft has a veritable storm of Assassin’s Creed titles coming to a variety of platforms this year.

Assassin’s Creed: Birth of a New World – The American Saga (also known as The Americas Collection) is set to release on October 3rd/28th (EU/NA respectively) for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and is another Assassin’s Creed product that is supposedly not coming to PC.

However, The Americas Collection is merely a compilation of ACIII, Liberation HD, and ACIV, which are already on PC, so it’s not as concerning for PC gamers.

Assassin's Creed Unity

Assassin’s Creed Unity hits the current generation of consoles on November 11th/13th (EU/NA), with Assassin’s Creed Rogue catering to the last generation of consoles the very same day.

Unity is coming to PC, but Rogue is expected only to release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Naturally, PC-centric gamers have been clamoring for a response from Ubisoft in regards to a PC version of Assassin’s Creed Rogue. A valid request since all previous Assassin’s Creed titles have made their way to computers.

Fortunately enough, Ubisoft has addressed the request, and has something to say about it (albeit quite vague). Read more details after the break.

Ubisoft Hints at PC Version of Assassin’s Creed Rogue

Assassin's Creed Rogue may be coming to PC

According to Assassin’s Creed Rogue‘s associate producer, Karl Von Der Luhe, Ubisoft has caught wind of PC gamers’ curiosity in terms of a PC version of the game.

Von Der Luhe had the following to say on the matter:

“…the game [Assassin’s Creed Rogue) is being developed for 360 and PS3, We’ve heard a lot of response requesting a PC version, so we’ll be looking into that very soon.”

While not the most concrete or relieving of statements, it certainly adds credence to the possibility of Rogue coming to the PC platform.

As previously mentioned, with all previous Assassin’s Creed games available on PC, there seems to be little reason (that is known of) for this year’s last-generation effort not to make its way to the realm of mouse-and-keyboard.

What are your thoughts on the possibility of a PC version of Assassin’s Creed Rogue? Would you play it? Why or why not?
