Bungie, Destiny‘s developer, has revealed some very interesting statistics following games’s second week of release. According to its Weekly Update, 100 million hours have cumulatively been played since its September 9 launch. In addition to this impressive statistic, the average game session in Destiny lasts about 3 hours on weekdays and 4 hours on weekends, which isn’t surprising because of the recent Raid event that is allegedly taking quite a while to complete. Also note that 1 billion players have been killed in The Crucible, Destiny’s PvP Multiplayer component, and 137 million activities have been played as well.
Destiny has been by far the biggest video game in the last couple of weeks following its release as it is the world’s best selling new franchise. Whether you have a positive and negative view on the game, there is no denying its popularity as of right now and it will be interesting to see what the future holds out for Bungie’s latest project.
