A Contender In Their Design
Samsung’s latest addition to their product line is the Samsung Galaxy Alpha. Samsung is hoping to be a good contender against iPhone 6 until they roll out the newest addition to their Galaxy Note line in October.
Looking at the design of the Galaxy products, the Samsung Galaxy S5 pales in comparison to the Galaxy Alpha. It provides users with more control with gripping the phone, and quality overall is great. Without overselling, the Samsung Alpha is the best of the products that Samsung has developed.
The 6.7 mm metal slim frame only weighs 115 grams, but the panel in the back is made of plastic. The dotted back panel mimics the Galaxy S5, but a lot better. However, the downside is it is not waterproof like the Galaxy S5 Mini and the Galaxy S5. The design overall is similar to the iPhone, however much more likable with the sides coated in a metal chassis and the back and front coated in plastic and glass.
Galaxy Alpha Looking At The Best
Alpha’s technical specs clock in at 1.3 GHz, running on two quad-core processors in their octa-core processor. The second quad-core processor clocks at 1.8 GHz that can be good for those looking to use for their gaming experience. It has incredible speed compared to other phones on the market with an AnTuTu score of 38248, higher than the LG G3, HTC One M8, and the Galaxy S5. It runs of 2GB of RAM, and raw processor power, that provides a smooth operation.
They have two types of versions for their chipsets, the Exynos 5430 and Snapdragon 801.
Battery Life
The battery life is a disappointment, with only the capacity of 1860mAh, however the phone extends this to their usage. The two types of chipsets for that differ on their battery capacity. The screen is smaller than the Galaxy Notes and the Galaxy S5, so it makes sense for the battery life. Officially users with the Exynos 5430 chipset, you have 11 hours of talk time, and for those Snapdragon 801, users have 13 hours of talk time.
The battery however will deplete very fast the longer and the more you use the device. On average for those that know how to conserve their battery it will last a day, but for those that spend time browsing the web, or looking at videos it would last only 8 hours. So just make it habit to charge every night.
