The upcoming Resident Evil HD has had its cross-buy pre-order bonus removed in Europe for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, publisher Capcom has announced.

Capcom revealed last year that pre-ordering Resident Evil HD in North America “entitled” people to download both the PS4 and PS3 version of the title (i.e., buy one, get one free).

A Capcom employee, Neil Gortz, said in a blog post that the pre-order incentive “was not possible on Sony platforms” in Europe, but he did confirm that the cross-buy offer would still apply to those people who purchase Resident Evil HD from “the Sony Store in the first two weeks on sale.”

Resident Evil HD, the remastered version of the 2002 GameCube remake, will be running at 1080p on Xbox One and PS4, while the PS3 and Xbox 360 editions are set at 720p.

Capcom also released more than 15 current-generation screenshots from Resident Evil HD last year—and if you’re still contemplating which version to buy, then it’s definitely worth checking them out.

Retailing at $19.99 (£15.99), Resident Evil HD will be released on January 20th, 2015 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
