Sandbox Interactive released Dragonfire Patch 2 for Albion Online on September 23, 2026, increasing loot across several Dragonfire features and adding a new Item Freeze feature to orange-zone Ancient Lands.
Dragon Sanctuary and Ancient Lands Loot Increases
Medium Ancient Lands chests now contain roughly 50% more non-Drake loot, while Large Ancient Lands base loot from chests increased by roughly 140%. In the Dragon Sanctuary, the chance of finding a Drake Egg in the final chest increased by roughly 400%, and base loot from chests increased by 100% on average.
For Outlands Dragon Attacks, base loot from chests was approximately doubled. Fame is now rewarded as part of the Might payout instead of non-tradable Tomes of Insight, so every participant receives Fame rather than only the player who opens the chest. Sandbox Interactive also confirmed that new Dragon item drop chances, such as Dragon Armor items, were not changed to maintain the value of the new items.
Item Freeze and Encounter Adjustments
A new Item Freeze feature has been added to orange-zone Ancient Lands. When players enter the portal, all items in their inventory are frozen and will not be dropped on death. Items picked up while inside are not frozen and will drop on death.
Island chests, excluding the center island, are now unlocked by completing the island quest. This change is intended to prevent players from sniping the main reward and leaving the quest objective to players trying to summon the Fire Drake.
Several encounter adjustments arrived with the patch. Giants’ aggro range was reduced from 11m to 8m, and Spirit Weaver’s Drowsy Essence sleep duration was lowered from 4s to 2s. A new Bleedout revival animation was added. In the Dragon Sanctuary, the Maeve fight was adjusted to widen mid-fight recovery windows and change her pacing to increase more gradually, rather than nerfing or buffing her. The potency of the Lingering Dragon Spirit was reduced.
Season 33 Statues and Other Changes
Season 33 winner statues were unveiled in Conqueror’s Hall, marking the winning guilds Upside, Contingent, and The Flying Dutchman I. Dragonfire Patch 2 follows previous Albion Online content such as Albion Online’s Keepers update, and it includes additional quality-of-life options like a button to share Loadouts outside the game client and the ability to create Loadouts from the clipboard. Leyfin fish were added as Laborer Journal rewards, and combat balance changes were applied across weapons and armor. The patch also included bug fixes for spells, UI, open-world Dragon attacks, and Ancient Lands interactions.
