Hibernian Workshop has published the October 2026 patch notes for Astral Ascent, rolling hotfixes 2.7.1 through 2.7.6 into a single Steam news update dated October 11. The update adds a new room based on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and fixes a long list of co-op bugs. The notes went up on the game’s official Steam Community page under the title “Patch Notes – October 2026 – Hotfixes 2.7.6.”

Updated: October 13, 2026.

The Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 room

The patch adds a Room choice built on the universe of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Once you clear your first run, the room can appear in every run after it. Once per run, at the ninth room of a random world, you get an alternate choice to Andromeda’s Bar. Taking the challenge starts a boss fight against a random boss from the Expedition 33 universe.

Three bosses can appear. The Mimes arrive as a pair and both have to be defeated at the same time; when only one Mime’s HP drops to zero, that Mime retreats to heal while you keep fighting the other. Pétank mixes tricky moves that switch between offensive and defensive patterns. Golgra’s moves are irregular and hard to dodge, Gestrals in the arena jump in to help her, and she becomes more aggressive once her HP reaches 50 percent.

After the boss fight you teleport to The Campfire. There you can buy Healing Shards, upgrade an Aura, hug Esquie for emotional support, and pick one of the Expedition 33 heroes. Three of the six heroes are offered each run.

How the six Expedition 33 heroes play

Gustave heals, boosts your attack, strikes with you, and charges a finisher. Maelle shifts stance with your HP and holds one long enough for a payoff attack. Sciel draws cards: Moon gives mana, Sun gives direct strikes, and Twilight gives a big hit. Lune casts elemental spells that build to a finisher. Verso’s rank rises on hit and drops on damage taken, pushing it high for a large attack bonus. Monoco draws a random card that summons a monster.

Because the crossover pulls Expedition 33 characters into Astral Ascent, the roster is easier to follow with our Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 builds guide.

The co-op fixes and other corrections

The Expedition 33 DLC was missing from the new menu, and hotfix 2.7.1 restored it. The patch also fixes a large number of co-op issues where Player 2 effects spawned on or were attributed to Player 1. Those include spirit swords, sphere shields, light swords, Ayla knives, and flying slimes, plus signature spell cooldowns and perks that read Player 1 stats instead of Player 2 stats.

Other fixes cover a softlock when entering the Pétank room with ordan’s fury, the Path Liberator telescope only working the first time, and co-op invincibility gaps at the end of boss fights and after Andromeda’s Trials. Both players are now invincible in those situations, and the notes mark many of these entries as changes inspired by the community.
