Avenged Sevenfold are developing a Diablo Clone – Hail to the King

A game based on heavy metal songs? Yes!

The metalcore band Avanged Sevenfold have teamed up with Subscience Studios and are developing a game that seems like a Diablo clone. The love for video games that members of the band have is not something they’ve kept hidden from the public. Yet it is quite surprising that they’ve actually went as far as developing their own game.

Based on their discography, Hail to the King: Deathbat will let players travel to hell and back in order to reclaim what is rightfully theirs. As far as gameplay goes, the game is nothing else but a Diablo clone. However, this may not be such a bad thing. Even if you are not familiar with the band, if you are a metal fan you might enjoy this game quite much, as the scenarios it tells and the atmosphere the soundtrack creates is more than amazing. Although the graphics are not something extraordinary (they are quite bad in fact) Hail to the King will offer the players a chance to experience the lyrics of Avenged Sevenfold in a way they never could before.

It is quite interesting where the world is headed as far as entertainment goes. The metalcore band will be releasing eight new songs using the game as both an advertisement platform and a new way to bring fans closer to the atmosphere they want to create with their music.

The game might not bring hype in the gaming world, but it is definitely something Avenged Sevenfold fans are excited about and looking forward to. Hail to the King: Deathbat will be officially released in the first months of 2014. A question worth asking is will we see more bands expressing their music through games and virtual experiences in the future? What do you think?
