The producer of PS4-exclusive Bloodborne recently told Digital Spy that the dark and gritty game is set to release sometime in early 2015. For those that haven’t heard of the title before, it’s essentially seen as the spiritual successor to the immensely popular Dark Souls and Demon Souls series crafted by From Software. In that sense, players expect the experience to be brutally difficult, horrendously grotesque, and a true trial for the hardcore gaming crowd.
If you happen to be attending Gamescom on August 13th to 17th in Cologne, company officials have said that you’ll have the first public chance to get hands-on time with an early build of Bloodborne. “We’ll have our first hands-on demo on pods on the [Gamescom] showfloor,” said producer Jun Yoshino. Select press members that have already played Bloodborne note that it feels like a faster-paced more Gothic version of its predecessors.
Audiences got their first glimpse of Bloodborne during its stirring E3 reveal last month. It was leaked a few days ahead of the Sony press conference as Project Beast, but Sony Worldwide’s Shuhei Yoshida was on hand to first to announce the retail name Bloodborne to an anxious LA crowd.
