What Is the Blue Gate Cellar Key?

The Blue Gate Cellar Key is an Uncommon-rarity item in Arc Raiders — a PvPvE extraction shooter developed by Embark Studios, released on October 30, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Like all keys in the game, it is a single-use item: once you open a cellar door with it, the key is consumed and removed from your inventory. It only works on The Blue Gate map. If you load into any other map with this key, you cannot use it there.

The key has a weight of 0.25 — effectively free to carry — and sells to the vendor for 100 coins. Given how little inventory space it takes up, there is no reason not to hold onto it until you reach a cellar door.

Arc Raiders’ key system is one of its defining features — locked doors hide better loot than the open world typically offers, but you have to find the right key first, bring it safely through a raid, and then reach the door before another player does.

Where Is the Blue Gate Cellar Key Location? (All Doors)

There are at least two well-documented cellar doors that accept this key, plus additional smaller cellars near Raider’s Refuge and attached to houses across the map. Each key opens only one door per use. Here is exactly where to find the main two:

Cellar Door 1 — Olive Grove (Southern Blue Gate)

Head to the southern section of The Blue Gate map. Look for the Olive Grove label on your map — the cellar entrance is a short distance to the south of that text. It sits up against a hill next to a rock wall. The door blends heavily into the environment and is easy to walk past, so slow down when you get close. A caged shed sits on top of the hill just above the cellar — if you spot that structure, you are in the right place.

Be aware that Ruined Homestead is nearby and typically has ARC enemy spawns. Approach from the side rather than straight through the homestead, and consider crouching as you close in. Inside you will find multiple cabinets and containers, and there is a chance for a weapon case with a higher-rarity weapon.

Cellar Door 2 — Trapper’s Glade

The second main door is in Trapper’s Glade, located just southwest of the Nature icon on your map. Look for a small ruined building — the cellar door is right up against it. Approach the bar lock at the bottom of the door and the key use prompt will appear. This location tends to be busier than the Olive Grove cellar, so bring a trap or two and check the surrounding area before committing.

Additional Cellar Doors

IGN’s guide and community reports confirm there are further cellar hatches near Raider’s Refuge and attached to houses scattered across The Blue Gate map. These are less frequently documented but accept the same key. If you are exploring an unfamiliar part of the map and spot a cellar-style hatch, it is worth attempting the key — you may find an entrance that most players overlook entirely.

How to Find the Blue Gate Cellar Key

Key drops in Arc Raiders are completely random. No container in the game is guaranteed to give you a specific key. That said, some areas have better baseline drop rates:

Ruby Residence (Dam Battlegrounds map) is consistently mentioned by the Arc Raiders community as the most reliable area to find Blue Gate keys. The residential and commercial buildings there are dense with drawers, cabinets and lockers — every searchable container has a small chance to produce a key, and Ruby Residence simply has more of them per square metre than most other areas.

Pale Apartments on other maps is another regularly cited farming location worth adding to your rotation if Ruby Residence is already cleared.

The Village area on Blue Gate itself is also a viable search zone for the cellar key.

A few practical tips that improve your chances across any search area:

• Run Night Raids. Loot rarity scales up during Night Raids, including key drops. Amber and red loot zones become denser and more rewarding in these conditions.
• Bring a Looting MK 2 kit with safe pockets. This extends how many containers you can hit per raid and protects key finds from being lost on death.
• Store the key in your Safe Pocket as soon as you find it. If you fail to extract, keys in your Safe Pocket are kept rather than lost.

If you find the key on a Dam Battlegrounds run, you will need to extract and then load into a new Blue Gate session to use it.

What Loot Is Inside the Blue Gate Cellars?

The loot inside is good but not exceptional. Based on multiple reported runs across the community, you can expect:

• Mid-tier crafting components — Advanced Electrical Components, Firm Reel, Sensors, Mechanical Components
• Grenades and consumables
• Cabinets and fridges with general loot bags
• An occasional weapon case, which can drop a high-rarity weapon or weapon blueprint

One DualShockers contributor found the Venator I pistol blueprint inside the Olive Grove cellar — a Rare weapon that fires two shots simultaneously. That kind of find is not guaranteed, but it is the ceiling for what the cellar can produce.

The loot is RNG-based and changes each session. The cellars do not contain the highest-tier items in the game — Epic or Legendary key rooms like the Blue Gate Confiscation Room or Communication Tower Passage consistently outperform them. In the community’s key tier rankings, the Blue Gate Cellar Key generally lands in the C tier: worth using if you already have it, not worth specifically farming for.

Is the Blue Gate Cellar Key Worth Using?

Yes — use it rather than sell it to a vendor or let it sit in your stash. The vendor sell price is 100 coins, which is almost always less than the expected loot value of a cellar run. Even a mediocre run tends to produce more useful material than the credits you would get from selling the key.

The best-case scenario is using it during a Night Raid, when the loot table is elevated and the chance of hitting a weapon case with a quality blueprint goes up. Pair the cellar run with a Noisemaker or Mine planted near the entrance — this alerts you if another player follows you in, which is a real risk in both main locations given that they sit on popular patrol routes.

During Cold Snap events, the cellars also serve as shelter from frostbite — a practical bonus on top of whatever loot you find inside. If a storm rolls in while you are clearing the southern part of the map, ducking into the Olive Grove cellar buys you time and loot simultaneously.

It is also worth noting that these cellars make a good stop near the end of a looting round if you are already in the area and looking to top up your inventory before extracting. You are not going to build a session around the Blue Gate Cellar Key, but it rewards opportunistic use.

Blue Gate Map Overview

The Blue Gate is Arc Raiders’ most expansive and challenging standard map — unlocked after completing 18 successful raids across earlier maps. It sits inside a large mountainous valley featuring abandoned towns, olive orchards, open ridgelines and an underground tunnel complex.

The surface is defined by long sightlines that expose players to snipers at almost every point of interest, with ARC machines patrolling the chokepoints between them. The tunnel network underneath connects the major surface locations and adds a PvE-heavy alternative route. For players coming from smaller maps, The Blue Gate is a significant difficulty step up.
