Xbox held its Tokyo Game Show 2026 Broadcast on September 17, marking 25 years of Xbox and more than 20 years of the platform’s presence in Japan. During the show, Xbox offered players a look at what is coming from Activision, Bethesda, KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS, KOEI TECMO, and SEGA, and the broadcast featured 17 fresh gameplay reveals, announcements, a surprise release, and a world premiere, according to Xbox Wire.

One of the reveals was a new campaign trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, the next entry in the long-running shooter series from Activision. The footage debuted during the broadcast and was described as the Tokyo Games Show Campaign trailer. Xbox Wire confirmed that the game launches on October 23, 2026.

Price on the Run

The trailer shows Price on the run, with war having erupted on the Korean Peninsula. A catastrophic weapon of war is on the verge of falling into the wrong hands. Xbox Wire warned that one wrong move could result in disastrous consequences for the world as we know it.

Campaign Early Access and Launch Date

Campaign Early Access goes live on October 16 for players who pre-order the Standard Digital Edition or the Vault Edition of the game. The full game then arrives on October 23, 2026, one week after early access opens.

Elsewhere in the broadcast, Serenity Forge unveiled a world premiere for Faraday Blues, Netmarble brought new gameplay for Bloomwalker, and SEGA revealed Japan as one of the locations in Crazy Taxi: World Tour. Xbox also confirmed that the action roguelite Shape of Dreams is available to play on Xbox today, and new gameplay for Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember and Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement featured during the show.

A Broadcast That Closed With Hideo Kojima

Xbox Wire reported that the broadcast closed with an appearance by Hideo Kojima, the founder of KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS. He shared fresh updates on OD and PHYSINT, including the news that Swedish actor and producer Bill Skarsgård will portray the lead role in PHYSINT. Kojima also shared a new poster for the title featuring Skarsgård alongside Charlee Fraser.
