Pre-orders for Titan Quest II are now open on Xbox Series X|S, with the action RPG set to launch on January 19, 2027. Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Grimlore Games confirmed the date this week in an announcement on Xbox Wire. The game entered Steam Early Access on PC in August 2025.

The full release ends the Early Access road

Titan Quest II is the successor to the 2006 original, an action RPG set in a reimagined ancient Greece where players try to stop Nemesis, the Goddess of Retribution, from corrupting the Threads of Fate. Nemesis is out of control, condemning everyone who opposes her to eternal punishment, and the player’s job is to fight alongside the gods, free the people she has punished, and change fate itself. During the Early Access run, Grimlore added new regions, Masteries, enemies, bosses, crafting, and multiplayer in response to community feedback. The January 19 launch ends the story, and the complete journey arrives on Xbox for the first time.

The Xbox version ships as the finished game. Players who skipped the Early Access period start with every region, Mastery, and boss already in place, and the campaign runs all the way to its conclusion against Nemesis.

Six Masteries, 15 hybrid classes

Players build their class from the Mastery system, picking two of six Masteries and combining them into a hybrid class of their own. Earth, Storm, Warfare, Rogue, Forge, and Spirit each pair with any of the others, which adds up to 15 distinct combinations before gear even enters the picture.

Earth deals fire and stone damage across a wide area, while Storm freezes and electrocutes enemies to control the battlefield. Warfare leans on raw physical might, and Rogue works from the shadows with poison and piercing blades. Forge, inspired by Hephaistos, reinforces weapons and armor mid-fight and deploys blade traps, sentry turrets, and automatons. Spirit summons the dead and turns the hero’s life force into otherworldly spells.

Forge with Storm sets up blade traps crackling with lightning, and Spirit with Rogue sends the dead ahead while the player strikes from the shadows. Some skill modifiers change how a skill behaves, turning a sweeping strike into a channeled whirlwind. Attribute points across Might, Agility, Vigor, and Knowledge add another layer, and any hero can equip whatever weapons and armor they prefer, whether full plate armor with a frost magic staff or leather with a two-handed axe. A respec option means a bad build decision costs only a small amount of gold to undo.

Two editions and a four-day head start

The Standard Edition costs $59.99 and includes the Cosmic Turtle Companion as a pre-order bonus plus 96 hours of early access. Owners of the original Titan Quest on Xbox get a 10% loyalty discount on that edition. The Ultimate Edition is $79.99 and adds the original Titan Quest with its Ragnarök and Atlantis expansions, playable immediately on pre-order.

The 96-hour window means pre-order buyers can begin on January 15, four days ahead of the January 19 launch. The $20 step up to the Ultimate Edition is the only way to get the original Titan Quest and its two expansions on Xbox right away.

Deliberate combat aimed at Diablo players who want less chaos

Combat is deliberate. Enemies fight in factions and combine their abilities, so reading the battlefield, dodging at the right moment, and smart positioning matter as much as raw damage. Health potions refill as the player deals damage, which keeps them in the fight instead of sending them running for a safe corner. IGN Germany described the Early Access build as the ARPG for everyone who finds Diablo too hectic.

Rituals let players set their own difficulty. Loot feeds each build through Socket Charms and Relics plus crafting that rerolls, adds, or upgrades affixes, and even a common spear can be reforged into something legendary with the right ingredients. Beyond the main path sit dark dungeons, hidden groves where legendary monsters lurk, and World Quests that players trigger by finding them, including the mysterious domain of the Moirai.

The campaign, from the creators of SpellForce 3, runs across sun-drenched coasts, the Arkadian Plains, the Wild Lands, and Mount Olympus itself. Towns along the way are full of life and intrigue, and the conversations and found items can lead to surprising discoveries. The soundtrack blends traditional Greek music with orchestral arrangements. Centaurs, gryphons, and cyclopes guard the way to Nemesis, and the whole journey supports cooperative multiplayer.
