Alongside the free-play period, the standard edition of Civilization VII is discounted by 50%. The US price has dropped from $69.99 to $34.99, and Steam says that promotion ends on September 17.
The two deadlines are different: the free-play window closes first, while the half-price purchase offer remains available for another week. Players who try the game before September 10 therefore still have time to buy it at the listed discount before September 17.
What Civilization VII Changes
Civilization VII launched on February 10, 2025, and restructures the series around Ages. A campaign moves through Antiquity, Exploration, and Modern periods, with changing civilizations, technologies, and strategic priorities as the match advances.
