The Clash of the Smartphone’s- Nexus 5 vs. Oppo Find 7a vs. HTC One (E8) vs Motorola Moto X

Four well-known brands have released smartphones in the marketbetween November 2013 and September 2014. Here we give you an intricate comparison between all the four new gadgets. Motorola’s Moto X is designed with a nano polish to provide better external protection as well as internal protection against water spillages on them. All the other smartphones come with improved battery power and camera.

Displays and Sizes

To begin with, we should bring to your notice that all the four smartphones contain Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the screens to make them scratch-proof. Now let us go to the resolution and size of these devices. The Oppo Find 7a comes with a 5.5 inch screen with IPS LCD, and has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 megapixels as well as 401ppi. The Moto X provides a 5.2 inch screen with AMOLED and similar pixel resolution as Oppo but increased resolution of 424ppi. The HTC One E8 offers a screen with Super LCD3 but only 441ppi whereas the Nexus 5 has the tiniest screen with True HD IPS and a resolution of 445ppi. Out of all the four, Nexus 5 is the most slender one at 8.6mm while the thickest one is Moto X 2014 at 10mm. On other terms, Nexus 5 is the narrowest phone at 69.2mm whereas the Oppo Find 7a is the broadest phone at 75mm. In terms of weight, Nexus 5 is the least heavy one at 130 gms while Oppo Find 7a is the heaviest one at 170 grams.

Hardware and OS

All the four phones are similar in their processor with quad core Krait 400, the difference being that the processors of HTC One E8 as well as Moto X 2014 are clocked at 2.5GHz. These two phones also use Qualcomm MSM8975AC Snapdragon 801 processor chip whereas the processors of the other two phones are clocked at 2.3GHz. Nexus 5 contains a Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 processor chip while Oppo Find 7a has Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801 processor chip. The RAM configuration is 2GB on all the devices and their GPU shows Adreno 330.

As far as internal space is concerned, HTC One E8 as well as Oppo Find 7a contain 16GB storage space, with an added provision of expanding them to 128GB. Moto X 2014 and Nexus 5 come in 16GB and 32GB storage space but they cannot be expanded.

Oppo Find 7a contains the oldest version of Android OS, v4.3 (Jelly Bean) whereas the Moto X 2014 was introduced with v4.4.4 (KitKat) but it is now on the verge of updating to Android L. HTC One E8 works on v4.4.2 (KitKat) whereas Nexus 5 runs on v4.4 (KitKat) and can be upgraded to v4.4.4 (KitKat).

Cameras

Though Nexus 5 has an amazing rear camera of 8 megapixels along with optical image stabilization, its front facing camera is really poor with 1.3 megapixels. All the other smartphones feature 13 megapixel rear cameras having identical options like HDR, autofocus and touch focus. Dual LED flash is available in Nexus 5, Moto X 2014 and Oppo Find 7a. Both the HTC One E8 and the Oppo Find 7a contain 5 megapixel front facing cameras whereas Moto X 2014 features 2MP front facing shooter.

Batteries

Oppo Find 7a has the best battery power at 2800mAh, after which comes HTC One E8 at 2600mAh. Both the Nexus 5 and Moto X 2014 have less battery power at 2300 mAh.
