We are going to be looking at two completely different phones, one with a plastic back that imitates a leather, and one with a metallic look. However, there is so much more to what differentiates these two devices.
Dimensions, Displays, and Designs
For those that like their device with a faux leather look and metallic look then these phones are for you. The Lenovo S860 has a stylish design with at IPS LCD 5.3 inch display. It is outfitted with a pixel density of 277ppi and 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. On the other hand, the Galaxy Grand 2 comes with TFT 5.25 inch display, with a better 280 ppi pixel density, but the same resolution. Weighing 190 grams, the Lenovo S860 is heavier, and with dimensions os 149.5 x 77 x 10.3 mm it is taller. At 27grams lighter the Grand 2 is slightly smaller with dimensions of 146.8 x 75.3 x 8.9 mm.
OS and Hardware
Each device is powered by a Cortex A7 quad-core processor; however the Grand two has speeds of 1.2GHz, while the Lenovo S860 has 1.3GHz speeds. The Lenovo S860 has a Mediatek MT6582 chipset, and the Galaxy Grand 2 uses a Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400. The Lenovo also uses a Mali-400MP2 for graphics, and the Galaxy Grand 2 uses an Adreno 305 GPU. With a RAM capacity of 2GB, the Lenovo S860 operates on Android v4.2 Jelly Bean that can be upgraded to v4.42. The Galaxy Grand 2 has a RAM capcity of 1.5GB and runs on the Android v4.3 Jelly Bean, and has the option to upgrade to the KitKat v4.4.2.
The Lenovo outshines the Galaxy Grand 2 in the internal storage department with a capacity of 16GB, but you can’t expand. The Galaxy Grand 2 has an internal storage of 8GB, but can expand with a microSD card for up to 64GB.
Camera
Each device an 8MP rear camera, with similar features such as HDR, touch focus, geo tagging, face detection, auto focus, and LED flash. The Lenovo S860 offers a 1.6MP front camera, and the Galaxy Grand 2 is outfitted with a 1.9 front shooter.
Battery
A 4000mAh battery is outfitted on the Lenovo device which can last you all day on the 3G network. The Galaxy Grand 2 offers a 2600mAh battery which is sufficient in offering over 17 hours of talk time on a 3G network.
