So, of course, what is on everyone’s mind lately is the new iPhone 6, but come on you have to know that isn’t the only phone that is out. This article is discussing the latest in the Samsung phablet product line, the Note 4, and the Galaxy S5. So which one is better, the bigger one or a little bit bigger one.
Sizes, Displays, and Designs
Both Samsung devices have Super AMOLED displays that give a brighter and over-saturated color display, with the screen size for the Note 4, 5.7 inches with a 515 ppi, and 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. The Galaxy S5 is slightly smaller a screen size of 5.1 inches, a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, and pixel density of 432 ppi. Samsung coats each phone in Corning Gorilla Glass 3, the toughest material, but, of course, the iPhone 6 sapphire display is still better.
Unlike the Galaxy Note 4, the Galaxy S5 is dust and water-resistant, but both have a fingerprint sensor. The Note 4 provides the S Pen stylus, while the S5 is lighter and thinner at 145 grams, and 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 dimensions. The Note 4 on the other hand measures 30 grams heavier and dimensions of 153.5 x 78.6 x 8.5 mm.
Looking at their appearance, they each have a plastic rear panel, with the Note 4 having faux leather design and the S5 having a version of not so hot faux-leather plastic. The Note 4 also comes in several options such as gold, pink, black, and white metallic choices.
OS and Hardware
Each Note 4 version is very powerful. The both have the same 3G RAM capacity, with the first version running on a quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 CPU, running on an Adreno 420 GPU and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset. The other version is powered by the octa core processor with a quad-core 1.9 GHz Cortex-A57 CPU and a quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A53 and a Mali-T760 GPU.
The Galaxy S5 uses the Krait 400 quad-core processor, with speeds of 2.5 GHz, backed with Adreno 330 GPU, and coupled with a Qualcomm MSM8974 AC Snapdragon 801 chipset. The Galaxy Note 4 outperforms the Samsung Galaxy S5 in every way, even though the Galaxy S5 is still a great phone.
Each Note 4 versions have 32 GB internal memory, while the Galaxy S5 has two versions of 32 GB and another version of 16GB. Each having expandable memory supported with a microSD card for storage capacity of 128 GB.
The Galaxy S5 comes with v4.4.2 (KitKat), and the Note 4 runs on Android v4.4.4 (KitKat).
Camera
Each phone has a 16MP rear camera; that have HDR, LED Flash, image recording, smile detection, dual shot and face detection, Geo tagging, and simultaneous HD video. The Galaxy S5 has a phase detection autofocus, and the Note 4 has autofocus, and optical image stabilization, which means the pictures are less blurry. The S5 is 2MP front camera, with the Note 4 is 3.7MP front camera.
Battery Life
The Note 4 has a 3220 mAh battery, while the Galaxy S5 has a 2800mAh Li-Ion battery, which charges 20 percent in 12 minutes. While the Note 4 charges up to 50 percent within 30 minutes.

The S5 16GB is priced at $547 on Amazon while the Note 4 is priced at $940 on Clove.
