If you’ve been waiting for something to scratch the survival horror itch while the next big Resident Evil sits on the horizon, Complete Horror is worth twenty minutes of your time.
Developer Stars Pulse dropped a free demo on Steam this week. You play as a woman who wakes up alone in an abandoned subway station — no phone signal, no obvious exit, and something very wrong living in the tunnels around her. The creatures down there weren’t human, and the more you explore, the clearer it becomes that neither her presence nor the disaster that caused all this was accidental.
The gameplay is third-person over-the-shoulder, which immediately puts it in familiar Resident Evil territory. You pick up firearms as you go, mix ranged and melee combat, and unlock execution moves against tougher enemies. The subway is broken into interconnected areas that open up gradually as you push further in — classic survival horror map design. Story is told through environmental detail, documents, and puzzles rather than cutscenes.
It’s a short demo, but that’s the point. Stars Pulse is targeting Q3 2026 for the full release, so a tightly scoped taster makes sense right now.
