3DCenter’s August 2026 retail survey put its DDR5 price index at 486% of its July 2025 baseline, up from 445% in July 2026. The August index was 4.86 times the baseline and approximately 9.2% higher than the July 2026 reading.
What the index means
The baseline is a comparison point, not a price for a particular RAM kit. An index of 486% means the tracked basket was 386% above the baseline; it does not mean every DDR5 product rose by that amount. The survey uses German retail price listings, so it should not be treated as a worldwide price index.

The month-to-month change is calculated as (486 ÷ 445 − 1) × 100, rounded to one decimal place. 3DCenter also described the increase from the baseline as approximately 386%.

Compare current local listings for the capacity, speed and timing you need before deciding whether to upgrade. The index alone cannot establish an individual kit’s price or predict when prices will fall.
