Behaviour Interactive posted a developer update titled Developer Update | 10.2.0 PTB to Live Changes on the Dead by Daylight Steam community hub on October 5, 2026. The post outlines a handful of changes made between the 10.2.0 Public Test Build and the upcoming Live release, and thanks everyone who shared feedback during the PTB. It covers Shoulder the Burden, This is Not Happening, Dark Arrogance, Windows of Opportunity, and Borrowed Time, with the full set of patch notes arriving the next day. Behaviour Interactive says the 10.2.0 release is just around the corner. The horror game added Jason Voorhees earlier this year and has Art the Clown lined up for November.

Perk Adjustments From the 10.2.0 PTB

Shoulder the Burden drops the deactivation condition for other Survivors. On the 10.2.0 Public Test Build the perk deactivated after one use for all Survivors, and the developer explained that this punished solo players who cannot communicate with their team. That limitation is removed from the Live release.

This is Not Happening loses the Great basic Skill Check zone increase. The developer flagged concerns about combining the perk with Hyperfocus, and the Great basic skill check zone is removed as a result of that feedback.

Dark Arrogance no longer applies its basic-attack cooldown to successful hits. On the 10.2.0 Public Test Build Killers recovered from attacks, including successful hits, too quickly, which made chases feel too short. The developer pointed to Dark Arrogance as a key cause, noting the cooldown on the PTB was doing too much by including successful hits, so it now only affects missed and obstructed attacks.

Perks That Keep Their Changes or Revert

Windows of Opportunity stays the same as the 10.2.0 Public Test Build. The team acknowledged concerns that the change affects newer players but kept it, saying the perk was doing too much and overshadowing other perks. Making other Survivor perks more useful, such as Dark Sense, is the plan to compensate.

Borrowed Time reverts to its current Live version. The team explored a different version on the PTB but did not want to remove a useful anti-tunnel option, so the previous Borrowed Time is back for the Live release.
