With this year’s E3 just with arm’s reach, PlayStation.Blog’s senior community specialist Kristine Steimer has unveiled Sony’s new E3 2014 app on Friday, June 6 – an app that’ll keep track of annual event from start to finish on the PS4.
With this app, you’ll be able to view Sony’s E3 press conference from the comfort of your own home, and once the company’s conference is over you’ll also be able to view various screenshots and trailers of the games showcased at Sony’s show floor booth.
Also through this app, you’ll be able to keep track of what’s been unveiled and what Sony will be planning for its future services, like PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now. Additionally, there’s some little goodies that come with the app, such as challanges and some free trials for a couple of media services.
“This app isn’t just for browsing though,” Steimer explained in the announcement, “you can also unlock some perks by using the app. To start, there are gold and silver challenges you can complete in the app that will grant you up to 250 Sony Rewards points – these points will be available to unlock until June 24th.You can get other goodies through the app too, including an Amazon Prime 30-day trial and a Music Unlimited 30-day trial,” she added.
Steimer continued on to say that during Sony’s conference there will 6,000 invites per day for lucky individuals to try out the Private Beta of the company’s PlayStation Now streaming service.
“For the early birds out there, during the show we’ll have 6,000 invites per day for the PlayStation Now Private Beta on PS4, starting June 10th at 12pm PDT,” she said. “Make sure to log in early to secure your invite!”
2014’s E3 event will be taking place on Tuesday, June 10 through to Thursday, June 12. No doubt we’ll be bringing you a tonne of information during those days. Whilst the app is only available in the US, as confirmed by Steimer in the announcement’s comment section, the event will still be streamed on PlayStation.Blog’s website.
