According to fairly well-known (~40,000 subscribers) YouTube gamer, Novera, he and a group of fellow YouTubers stumbled upon leaked coding in the Xbox Marketplace that points to the possibility of new, upcoming GTA 5 DLC.

As for the possible contents of the DLC/update, it may possibly be related to the long-awaited heists or GTA Online‘s 1-year anniversary. Novera states that the DLC may arrive either tomorrow or sometime next week.

You can read what Novera had to say on Reddit’s GTA 5 subreddit in regards to the possibility of new GTA 5 DLC below:

So a few Youtubers including myself have leaked coding where it shows if a new DLC is coming a few days early, recently R* has picked up on it so they hide it with common name stuff, which they called the Flight School DLC test “DLC Pack” and this DLC they are calling “Test DLC” or “DLC Test” – As I post this, no one has mentioned this EVER.

A few users on GTA 5‘s subreddit had a few things to say on the matter, read their responses below:

Gibson1984 had a more cynical approach to the situation:

I…I just don’t care anymore.

It’s coming up on the one year anniversary of this game’s release date (GTA Online). Promises of heists have been pushed back time and time again only to be replaced with half-assed “DLC” updates. While I am very appreciative that R* wasn’t totally disrespectful enough to charge us for any of them per se, let’s not forget that each one of these packs also came with updates to get rid of glitches and exploits; which is great except that 99% of the patches were directed toward money exploits and dupe glitches. Very fucking rarely do they do anything about the really annoying exploits like god-mode and wall breaches, no, instead they make sure you don’t have anyway to get illegitimate money with out buying their shark cards.

“But Gibson, just grind the missions!” you say? Yeah, let’s talk about them watching the trends of the high paying missions that people would play for hours in a row to make decent money in the game, how they fucking nerfed the lot of them, and took away the replay option so you can wait 5 minutes in shitty cloud server purgatory in between each mundane fucking mission. They made it a chore to effectively purchase the “free” “DLC” items so we buy into the shark card escape route. As a consumer and lover of all things video games, I don’t appreciate this disrespectful bullshit and I’m fuckin’ done with it.

Yesindeedserious was a bit more hopeful, saying:

There is an upcoming DLC that he captured the XML headers from his network stream. This is the info that Xbox uses to advise that a new DLC is available, and must be downloaded before you use GTA 5 (GTA Online) on Xbox Live. Hasn’t officially been released yet, but safe to say, “it will be”.

Keep in mind that this is all rumor and speculation, and is, in no form or fashion, and official announcment by Rockstar Games. Thus, it may or may not be accurate.

What are your thoughts on the possibility of new GTA 5 DLC. If the above information is true, what do you hope it will be? Heists, bug fixes, et cetera? Also are you still playing GTA 5? Why or why not? Are you waiting for the current generation console/PC release of GTA 5?
